Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler

Product was fair priced and came very quickly. I am very satisfied and so are my fish!!!!!

The Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler works very well, however, it would be nice to have more adjustment options. Mainly the angle up and down at which it sprays. I don't have a huge backyard but it's not that small either and I had a very hard time adjusting the sprinkler head to keep the spray from going over my back or side fences and into the neighbors yards. I finally got the adjustment just right (after a couple of hours of trying) by changing the angle that the spike was pounded into the ground (or rock in the case of yards here in Phoenix). Other than that, it works exactly how it is described and I would recommend it to friends and family.

When I bought this I was skeptical, but hopeful. I had a problem with my neighbors cat not only using my front yard as a litter box, but afterward it would scratch, like a dog, to cover it's business. And it returned frequently, which left very large patches of dead grass in my lawn. This took care of the problem in a humane way without causing discourse between neighbors. It takes a little adjusting to get it just the way you want it - spraying the cats but not everybody coming up the driveway - but overall a great product.

Had a huge problem last year with racoons pulling up new plants to get at slugs and worms in my garden. I swallowed the financial pill to deploy the Contech Scarecrow, and it did the trick for a while, but the racoons started to get even more clever about how they approached their target plants, they didn't seem to mind the soaking, and that part of my yard turned into a serious bog over the span of a week. This didn't make the plants too happy either! Finally gave up on the sprinkler and installed a FidoShock electric fence and have never had a problem since . . .

Next door is three big dogs that stays inside except about three times each day they let them out to do their business on the nearby lawns.Since I got my Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler and they do not get on my lawn any more.I have tried electronic motion sensers and they did not work.I think the Scarecrow Sprinkler is the best thing since sliced bread.

The receiving station is small and attractive, and features a display with adjustable brightness to make it easy to read. It quickly established the connection with the remote sending unit and the atomic clock. The remote sending unit and the base unit agreed very closely when we set them up together to evaluate how well they measure temperature.

It is very easy to read from across the room which is what we were looking for. I also like the silver and black color that it comes in. We also bought one for my sister-in-law and she is also very happy with hers

This unit performs well. I've had it for about a month, and the remote sensor works well. The only minor issues I've noticed are: -The base unit supports 3 remote monitoring channels. You have to click through each channel to see the remote unit temperature. Most people will only have one remote unit, so why can't I configure the base unit to ignore the other two channels? It's time consuming to always click through the two blank channels. -No AC adapter. You will always need a steady supply of batteries, especially for the remote unit. Batteries die quicker in cold temperatures. -There are four little screws on the remote unit used to create a water tight seal. They are annoying to remove and replace each time the battery dies. -The base unit must be rebooted when you change batteries in the remote unit in order to reliably find the remote unit. The directions warn you about always starting the remote unit before the base unit.

The product worked as advertised for 4 months. Now it displays a temperature about 4 degrees higher than it actually is, or sometimes a random value. Quality control? The remote sensors you can add are a little annoying to use, since their readings are not simultaneously displayed, you need to click a button every time you want to read them.

Living in an old Victorian house there is quite a bit of temperature variation between the floors. This allows me to monitor the conditions everywhere including the basement and outside form one central point. Definitely more than worth it.

Splash-Proof Super-Fast Thermapen - Instant Read Thermometer, Perfect for Barbecue, Home and Professional Cooking Splash-Proof Super-Fast Thermapen - Instant Read Thermometer, Perfect for Barbecue, Home and Professional Cooking

Cooking by temperature is the only way to cook for consistent, excellent results, and the Thermapen is absolutely the best way to measure food temperature. It's fast, easy to clean, durable and easy to use. Don't guess when things are done. Forget cooking by time. With the Thermapen, it doesn't get any better than this.

I had an older model thermapen and you couldnt pry it out of my hands. That was an awsome unit. This one is EVEN better. I went to buy batteries for my older unit and saw that Thermoworks had updated their thermapen! I HAD TO HAVE IT. I actually sold my old unit on an online auction site (u know which) and only lost $5.00 when I sold it !!!!!!! I used it for three years and it only cost me FIVE BUCKS ! ! ! ! I paid $82.00...... Sold it for $77.00 ! ! ! ! !! The person that bought it was STILL THRILLED ! ! ! !You can NOT beat these. Anyway, the new unit is splashproof, slicker looking, battery life that is UNBELIEVABLE, and now measures to two digits. I compared both the old unit and the new unit next to each other, and as sad as it sounds, the old one was as accurate as the new. No points off for the new unit though. Also.. Do yourself a favor and get the leather case for this. It is a fine instrument, and should be respected as such. (ok....in reality, I just love mine and the case is a nice touch to keep the thermapen from getting scratched up in a drawer.- Besides you spend that much $$ for a thermometer, JUST GET THE CASE TOO !!) The ONLY thing this is missing (hello thermoworks!) is a lock for the temperature.. P L E A S E thermoworks! Do that and Ill buy that one too! These things are like the iPhone to me, I always HAVE to have the latest!!! You'll see when you buy yours!

No more hockey pucks(burgers)...No more stringy chichen....no more well done steaks..Now my husband is really the Grill Master.....Its the best thermometer we have ever used.

If you want the fastest responding thermometer, this is it. I've tried a number of instant-read thermometers, and nothing has has the speed that the Thermapen has. After using it for three months, I gave it the boiling water test, and it read 212F. Yes, it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. The only downside is that it got rained on a bit too much last week, and went whacky. After three days of drying out, it was back to normal. It had gotten a little wet before, with no probs, so this was a surprise. But I still stand behind it 100%. My friends have them (in fact, mine was a gift), and they love them, too.

One of my favorite kitchen gadgets, period. Worth every penny. I had a previous model, but eventually water seepage did it in. I just bought the new water-resistant model. So my comments are about the pen in general. Get it. It's worth it! I'm not wasting as much meat and foods, from over or undercooking. It's paid for itself. And we're getting more enjoyment from our meals--tender, perfectly done roast or chicken, custard, fish, whatever. Yes, it will work with small thicknesses of fish. I know when my oil is ready, and when what temp my water bath is. Grilling is so much easier. And I don't have to hold my oven door open long at all when taking a reading, so there's less up and down heat cycling. The digital display has large numbers which are easy to read. It's highly accurate, time after time, and dead simple to use. Flip it out, take a reading, clean, and close. Tip: instead of buying an expensive case, I got a 50 cent vinyl and lined eyeglasses sleeve-style case at the thrift store. That's enough protection for it in my kitchen drawer. Also, I wash my tip after use, and set the pen's base across the little cutlery holder in my dish drain, being sure to angle the metal probe downwards, so that water doesn't migrate back towards the electronics, if I was busy and didn't have the time to dry it right that second. I believe that my husband using damp hands once too often might've been my first one's demise. I'm excited to be getting a new water-resistant one. But I'll still take that precaution when washing and drying it. I can't recommend this tool highly enough. Wish I'd had it decades ago.

We bought this when my daughter was 4. I was not sure how to get this very important message across without scaring her. But this DVD has helped immensely! We have watched it many times. We watch it together. We discuss while we watch. We practice what we've both learned. The more we have watched, the more confidence she has gained about what to do in the case of a stranger. I have recommended this to my brother for his daughter and my cousin for her son. It is never too early to start "stranger danger". This DVD makes it easy to talk about and helps children understand who a stranger is in a comfortable way. I cannot say enough about it. My daughter is older now and we still watch it just to keep aware.

I *hate* this video; it's filled with constant interruptions and annoying sound effects. My four-year-old, however, LOVES it! He's asked to watch it every day, and he picked up the concepts very quickly, because they were explained so well. Highly recommend!

It came on time and my daughter likes watching it. It comes with stickers which incents her to watch it over and over again.

My kids have already watched this twice and if they never see it again it was worth the money! We all learned important safety tips and we quote the dvd daily.

As soon as we were done watching this, my daughter wanted to watch it again. I would highly recommend this video because it's honest, not scary and definitely silly. It also gave me guidelines to set up some family rules. We'll be watching this a lot as we raise our family.

Safe Trip Home Safe Trip Home

With each of Dido's albums, she appeared to be becoming more and more obscure due to the public's evident waning interest in her work. Had it not been for a 2008 appearance on the Tonight Show, I wouldn't have even known she released an album that year. But I finally got around to listening to Safe Trip Home. Dido's soft-but-sweet vocals haven't changed much, which makes it easy to pick out highlights like "Never Want to Say It's Love", "Burnin Love" and "Quiet Times". "Us 2 Little Gods" is also good even though she is yet another victim of the confusion of "us" and "we" (yeah, I know no one came here for an English lesson, but I couldn't help it). Anyway, "Don't Believe in Love" is another one of those cases where the lyrics don't look like much on paper, but it's all in the way she sings them. I also wonder which version of the album I have because most outlets list the album as having eleven tracks but mine has fourteen. The three extra songs are "For One Day" (which is pretty okay), "Summer" (a highlight) and a remix of an earlier song on the album called "Northern Skies". And the latter is one of those remixes that doesn't sound much different from the original version -- in fact, it doesn't sound different at all (and the original is five minutes too long to begin with). Though Dido isn't getting as much attention as she used to (outside of this site, anyway), there's nothing but a comfortable ride to be had on this safe trip home. Anthony Rupert

Safe Trip Home her 3rd studio album and 2008 release and was a smash hit all across Europe reaching top ten in Germany, France, The UK and topped the charts in Switzerland. Allmusic, Badger Herald and Daily Mirror all gave it high marks. Best songs on the album are "Don't Believe in Love", "Quiet Times" and "It Comes and it Goes". All the lyrics are included in the booklet and one also gets a list of who plays what. 4/5.

After a five year absence, Dido returned in 2008 with "Safe Trip Home". This album is a departure from her electronic based music of the past, which she ditched for a largely acoustic sound. Part of that reason is the change in producers. Her brother Rollo of the band Faithless produced her first two albums- 1999's "No Angel" and 2003's "Life For Rent". On this new album, the production duties were split in half- one half was done by The Ark and the other half was done by Jon Brion, who also did the first single "Don't Believe In Love". A few famous guests stop by on "Safe Trip Home", such as The Roots member ?uestlove on "Never Want To Say It's Love", Brian Eno and Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood on "Grafton Street" and Citizen Cope on "Burnin' Love". This is a wonderful album from start to finish, and the only problem that I have with it is how Arista Records handled the project. It seems as if they were more interested in Jennifer Hudson and Whitney Houston's comeback to give this album proper promotion. Do yourself a favor and purchase this album.

Dido's safe trip home is solid departure from her earlier two albums. Safe Trip Home's tracks are simple yet masterful. She uses her voice and very few instruments on each track which results in an incredible sound. Highly recommended.

I believe that this is the most heartfelt, creative portrait of Dido's musical talent. Yes, I would say the first two albums were more mainstream and fulfilled the popular music need at that time. But this is different. Something more mysterious and bereaved.

The Last Samurai The Last Samurai

Zimmer is an amazing composer, & I find this to be a very fine offering of his talent. Soft yet rhythmic, the pieces flow with rich beauty, longing, & serenity. Perfect for meditation, easy listening, or just gentle background sound.

I can't get enough of this CD. Such an array of moving movements that seem to bring out the depths of peace and passionate motivation.

I already know I like some of the tracks but being that my order has not arrived yet (a month in waiting) I cannot not critique on the entire track.

Excellent soundtrack! I loved it in the movie. Even better on the CD.

Much like the movie the music was made for, this score is for people who don't know about Asian/Japanese culture. For a movie for Western audiences, the light, hollow-sounding "Japanese" sounds will sound Asian enough. And most people will likewise give this review a negative as they have to every other review that critiques this score from a truly musical standpoint. The typical, sweeping, swooning orchestral score that marks many Hollywood "epics" is present here, and it does fine enough within the context of a movie. But listened to without the imagery, the music doesn't do much new. It sounds like a typical Westerner's score with a slight Asian sound to it. It's not as bad as, say, having a GONG banging in the background, but just one listen to such scores as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" or "Hero" will reveal the derivative and pseudo-Asian influence of "Last Samurai." Those who like the "Last Samurai" probably won't care that the music here is ultimately superficial, as they've also accepted the utterly absurd, utterly Hollywood fantasy in "Last Samurai."

I recently purchased this USB drive and was surprised at how much storage I could get for not a lot of money.

has some crappy setup? program for your flashdrive. I guess would be useful to a super newb but its a flash drive so not really sure the point. Hardwares good though I just suggest formatting before using.

not wild about the thumb push in and out of the USB connection. But for what I do, storing digital photos, this works great.

This did not work-- I tried to load my files on it and then the icon would disappear from my desktop. I tried about 10 times before I realized it just does not work. DO NOT BUY

Not a whole lot to say about it other then I was pleased with the purchase. It suited my reason in buying. And can save several MB.

I have a Canon MPX830 printer for over two years. It is used for work and personal use. I have always bought genuine Canon ink tanks. The performance and quality of print is very good. I have had no trouble with the printer to which I attribute the use of the Canon ink tanks. I am very satisfied with the pricing and service I get from Amazon also.

I bought this ink for my Canon PIXMA MP600 printer/scanner/copier, which is an excellent product. The ink is consistent in quality and has never caused any problem in the two or three years that I have been purchasing it from various vendors. My only complaint is that the cost of the ink is much too high, a problem with all ink for inkjet printers. And I am glad that this product is manufactured in Japan. The advantage of the 3-pack over the 4-pack is that I use the black ink much more slowly than the other three colors, so the 3-pack saves me some money.

The price is best I can find anywhere, but as with all OEM printer ink, the pricing is still outrageous. None of these cratriges lasts all that long. H ave been tempted to use od refill service....anyone have experinece with this?

Buying ink is always expensive! I've tried the cut rate ink suppliers and found leaks and other malfunctions. I'm back to the high priced OEM inks until I can't stand it anymore. Ugh!

The Canon CLI-8 Value Pack really is valuable for those of us who use black ink less-

The 655 worked great for over a year until one day I clicked on the "update your firmware" button on the user interface. Big mistake. It installed 1.21 and it slowed down to molasses and would no longer stream netflix on my LG BD-370 player. I spent hours that I can never get back to find out that it is a common problem with this router. The Dlink forums are full of complaints. Since the router wont let you ever "go back" to a previous firmware version...I was stuck. There is an application on line by a Russian developer that hacks the 655 and lets you down grad the firmware backwards...call me crazy but I dont think it's a good idea to download uncertifed Russian software hacks to fix what is supposed to work from the get go. I've updated to 1.33 but it still only connects 33% of the time. The wireless connection speed is now only 65mb/s on N. Web searches show that sometimes you can be successful....apparently there are some extensive ports and stuff you can do, but it's far over my expertise. I either have to replace my blu ray player or the wireless router. It's easy choice. Bye bye Dlink.

I have a split-level house and due to the way the house is wired, the Internet Connection is in the Office in my basement. I had an Apple Airport Extreme Wireless N Base Station. I was plagued by bad reception - 3 Bars upstairs, 2 bars sometimes, and numerous dropped skype calls, and network issues. My NAS was wired directly to the router - when I was downstairs, I would get moderate performance and upstairs, when I right-clicked an ISO image to mount, the network would take for ever, at 36 Mbps and on a good day, around 74. Just wired up the DIR-655, and guess what, a consistent 130 Mbps throught the house. Amazing - 5 bars upstairs. I right click and mount ISOs and the speed is decent. I dont have to install the Apple Airport Express software anymore. I even tried using an additional Apple Airport Express unit to see if that would make things better - no go. Doesnt make a difference. Here's what I think - for an apartment under 2000 Square feet where the most you have between the router and a client PC is one wall, yeah, the Apple Products work. Non-Mac PC's still connect only at the 2.4 GHz and not the 5GHz as advertised. And there's no way on the AEBS to disable one or the other. So the router's not going to work great unless you have Apple hardware. The Dell Laptops - mine and my wife's, just love the D-Link. It has been 2 days, and I think that my days of bad wireless performance are behind me. Remember, as frequency increases, range decreases. The D-Link DIR-655 operates at 2.4 GHz. Yeah not great frequency, but great range and it works great for me. GREAT. Nothing less. The greatest thing here is that the AEBS gave me very inconsistent performance - the speed fluctuated constantly, for no reason. I would be sitting there typing just as I am right now and it would go to single digit Mbps speeds. With the DIR-655, I have 5 bars and 130Mbps - consistent. Too cold to go out onto the deck yet, but I will this summer, and I have a feeling this thing is going to rock.

I ordered the DIR-655 based on the positive reviews it received on Amazon. I have received two units from Amazon and both have been dead on arrival. I spent about 20 minutes on each unit working with D-Link tech support. I found it interesting that the two technicians tried totally different solutions. Regardless, they could not get a TCPIP Ping to work so they declared my units defective. This was my first and last D-Link purchase. Back to Linksys.

I don't know much about technology - but the thing works - and the kids are happy with it.

I read reviews on the majority of the lower priced N routers out and the overall reviews have been all across the board. Lots of 5 stars and lots of 1 stars which I always think is kinda weird. Anyway, for the DIR-655 there were more high ratings than low and most of the low one's sited incompetent tech support. I figured I'd ignore that because I've never found a company that consistently gives good tech support... I got the router in about 3 days from when I ordered it and popped the install CD in my computer. Its really easy to follow although it made me reboot my computer once during the setup. Everything seemed to initiate properly except I could not connect to the internet. After reading the reviews of the poor tech support I figured I'd call my ISP (Sbcglobal/Yahoo) first. I sat on hold for about 30 minutes. After being transferred to 2 different operators who didn't know what to do I reluctantly called D-Link support. I got thru to an Indian operator in about 30 seconds and explained my problem. He quickly identified what I was trying to do and very easily walked me thru a couple of settings that I needed to add to the more advanced configuration options. I was up and running in about 10 mins! I've got my desktop hardwired, 2 laptops and a Blackberry connected thru WIFI and they are all working great! I recommend D-Link and this router to anyone looking to upgrade to a well priced N router!

My daughter loves THE FONZ, so this purchase was a MUST for us. She learned a great deal about personal safety and reviews the tape often, so this is a win - win situation for her and us. Let's face it, the FONZ rocks!

i have not seen the film but I'm sure Mr. Winkler's efforts have made it a legitimate success. However, viewers should know that Dr. Sol Gordon is closet homosexual who has taken troubled but highly intelligent boys under his wing, propositioned them and in at least in one case, molested him. (With his wife in the house, no less.) I know this is true because I was the victim. Friends of mine had warned that he had come on to them, but I was too depressed and frightened at the time to resist. I did file a report to the American Psychology Association not long after it happened in the seventies. I'm sure I wasn't the only victim. Each therapist I've seen since has been horrified by his behavior.

I don't know if I can explain this in less than 1000 words but I'll try. This video has changed my life. I now know the correct words for my "private parts" and I know that no one can touch them, EXCEPT ME!! Thank you for rule number 5 guys!! Kee MacFarlane if you read this- will you marry me? GET THIS VIDEO!! Love Always, Dale

This phenomenal film will teach a speaking child of any age to protect him/herself. Its format includes kids comments, songs, examples and break points at which to stop the video for discussion. It is the most common sense approach for child safety regarding dangerous adults that you will ever see. It is so urgently needed some video rental stores offer it free of charge. It is so colorful, enjoyable and repetitive no child is too young or old to receive and retain its essential information. It should be shown and discussed in every home and school. Watch it over and over with your child and you will never regret it.

Fail Safe [VHS] Fail Safe [VHS]

A very somber, dark movie which captured the mood of the time with regard to a nuclear holocost. America was very frightened that nuclear war was a real possiblity which was reflected in many of the movies and books of the time.

Could nuclear war happen on accident. This was always a fear of John F. Kennedy after he read Barbara Tuckman'sThe Guns of August. He obsessed about this after his ill-fated 1961 Vienna Summit with Nikita Khrucshev, and it almost hapened during the Cuban Missle Crisis in October of 1962. Kennedy was smart enough to avert this, but that standoff made the possibility real for Americans. I have said this in other reviews, but if you are my age, born in 1969, you caught the tail and far less dangerous end of the cold war. But from the end of World War II until the end of the Missle Crisis, the unthinkable was quite thinkable, every day. I collect Time Magazines from the 1950s and 1960s, and you could sent away for a backyard bomb shelter as we now do for books, CDs and computer eqiptment. If you think of those first few months after 9/11, during the anthrax attacks, this is probably the closest people of my era have ever gotten to how palpable this fear was. Fail-Safe from 1964 shows just how easy accidental incineration could have been. Two American pilots misread radio messages and start flying into Western Russia to unload the bomb. It takes awhile for the people in the military to understand what is going on. The pilots are called back , eventually, even by President Henry Fonda. But it is too late. There are a series of orders and checks that go horribly wrong--the steps meant to avoid error wind up causing the worst error of all. This is war by massive systematic error and blind obeidance to systematic proceadure. The pilots are following orders, but orders of a regimine that does not reveal its flaws until it actually is activated. Fail-Safe is no scinence fiction horror show. Directed by the great Sidney Lumet--if I could do reviews like he did films, I would be trouncing Harriet right now, but she has nothing to worry about --it shows the doves, moderates, hawks (Walter Matthau) and crazies (Fritz Weaver) all trying to influence Fonda, in his calm and centered playing of the president. (This could be any president. He is not meant to be LBJ, in office when Fail Safe hit screens.) All the acting is great, but I really have to single out Matthau--he got his big name doing comady, but he plays an amazingly creepy hawk here, who thinks this crisis is an oppotunity to win the cold war. His charactor is cold, calcualting, and truely insane. Does this mean anything now. Pakastan and India have nukes, and are hotbeds for Islamic Radicalism. Fail-safe is relevent now--you betcha./

I viewed parts of this movie as a younger person and have come to appreciate the great acting, story and challenges it presents. Highly recommend.

I've never cared for DR. STRANGELOVE (1964), and Sidney Lumet's FAIL-SAFE is precisely the reason why. FAIL-SAFE is THE Cold War masterpiece, while its predecessor is a clumsy, unamusing and ill-advised Stanley Kubrick work. The chance of nuclear annihilation really exists and is not something to make light of. In FAIL-SAFE, Henry Fonda is brilliant as President of the United States and Larry Hagman in only his second motion picture is equally superb. It's Hagman's job to interpret what the Soviet premier says to Fonda over the hotline as a group of American bombers with multiple 20 megaton bombs heads towards Moscow, but he must also give impressions of the Russian's feelings and intentions. It's grueling work, and knowing that humanity may be on the brink of extinction is clearly delineated by Hagman, who should've won a Supporting Actor Oscar for his efforts. In fact, this remarkable drama did not receive a SINGLE Oscar nod. Near story's end, tension and fear have built to the breaking point, then after an extended agony of suspense, Bang Bang Bang, like a champion boxer landing a trio of rapid-fire blows, events unfold one-two-three and everything ends in utter tragedy. The absolutely avoidable, unthinkable, impossible happens and following one final brilliant bit of quick multiple edits in a 20 second space, the screen goes black. I was too young to see FAIL-SAFE at a theater, but can easily imagine the effect this ending had on audiences, for it honestly left me stunned. The contemplation of such horrific possibilities especially in these most hazardous times is enervating, sobering, depressing. So if I have nothing but disdain for DR. STRANGELOVE, now you know WHY. Parenthetical number preceding title is a 1 to 10 imdb viewer poll rating. (8.0) Fail-Safe (1964) - Henry Fonda/Larry Hagman/Dan O'Herlihy/Walter Matthau/Fritz Weaver/Frank Overton/Sorrell Booke/Dom DeLuise

Rather than echo the plaudits of the reviewers before me, all of which I am in full accord, I'd like to offer another observation. The most frightening aspect of this movie is that it speaks of a mass fear that is specific to the last two or three generations. The fear of the willful destruction of all life on this planet through the technological method. Consider the kind of neurosis and fear that gripped the last three generations. A fear that any moment the whole of human society could be instantly incinerated. This fear has been a deciding factor in the unfolding of western culture since the end of WW2, and it would be a poor student or scholar of history who fails to see this. I quote John Fowles (from The Magus): "The threat of nuclear catastrophe had stimulated the economic production, ensured peace (to some extent), and provided a sense of real danger behind every moment of life. The result was an amoral era in which consumerist self-gratification against a backdrop of imminent doom produces entire populations of autoerotic and autopsychotic people. Economic isolation and psychological isolation from states of poverty and human suffering will be a norm. The result is men of moderate intelligence, little analytical power, and no science; coupled with the inadequacies of the pseudo statements of low-quality art and confused value judgments, utterly incapable of meeting their evolutionary roles. He has been launched into a world with no training in self-analysis and self-orientation; and almost all the education he received is positively harmful to him. He was born, so to speak, blinded by his environments; and cannot find his way." This is the heritage of the nuclear age. The movie, and indeed the source of its inspiration, imposes upon the whole of the human race a single question: are we wise enough to master ourselves and the power we now possess? Are we evolved enough to face the responsibilities that the momentum of human history has imposed upon us? One thing we must face that is truly disturbing is this. Throughout the history of the world since 1945, nuclear war has been averted on several occasions. What one must ask is weather our leaders did so owing to a moral choice and a sense of responsibility to God and His human creation, or weather they were simply motivated by a desire to preserve their station? The practical upshot of this, from their point of view, is that nuclear war would end human society; and as a result, end their political power. From a purely political perspective, this would be a terribly irresponsible thing to allow. Yet, how does this affect the rest of humanity? Does this reduce the individual to a disposable commodity, a statistic devoid of all human and spiritual value? And even worse, how many human beings irregardless of station, rank, and ideology are, almost exclusively by choice and consent, truly below a level of such consideration? Furthermore, how did humanity devolve to the point of using science and the subtitles of nature in such a horrible manner? What kind of human being could willingly build such devices? What corruption of mind and spirit could look at the world, its resources, and peoples, and say "If I cannot possess and control it, then nobody will!" Because that is, in stark reality, the statement that every nuclear weapon ultimately makes. And why do we willingly permit such people to run our governments, industries, militia, media, educational institutions, and economy? "Fail Safe" forces these questions down our throats, and dares us to answer them honestly. That is, if we have the courage and honesty to do so. The candid answers to these questions should terrify us more than this movie ever could.

Fringe: The Complete First Season Fringe: The Complete First Season

Reviews

Keeps you interested, and all ways has a different story, but gives you much information on the underlying storyline!

The first season fringe is great. It is really entertaining and a terrific new show. We can't wait until they release the second season on DVD and we will be sure to order from Amazon because of their excellent service. I got the first season while it was on sale and it was shipped to me within two days. Thanks Amazon!

This series is definitely addictive! I found myself staying up late watching hours of episodes. Great buy!

Fast, quick and reliable! I ordered this dvd and received it the next day, tax free and free shipping! GREAT.

I'm not a big fan of TV, so I first saw this series on disc (and now have the DVD and Blu-Ray versions of this). The Blu-Ray version definitely looks better, and it's worth picking up if you have the hardware to play it; it's less discs to manage, and the picture quality is terrific. The menus are a little awkward compared to the standard DVD release's menus, but definitely not bad once you get used to them. Fringe unexpectedly became my favorite show I've ever seen, for a number of reasons. The story is intelligent and well-handled modern sci-fi, and unlike almost anything else on TV the show actually has a purpose. It's not just showing you things to fill a time slot; even spanning into the second season Fringe continues to create an ongoing story out of each show. They're going somewhere with it, and like a good book it's fun and entertaining to find out where it ends up. More than anything else, the show is character driven. The story revolves around Walter Bishop, a not-so sane scientist, in a role that's played so well that I can't imagine anyone NOT liking him. Emotional, often hilariously funny, and sometimes a little disturbing and even scary... he's one of, or should be considered to be, the most iconic supporting characters on TV. His son, Peter, has a harsh relationship with Walter and the first season of the show builds upon the always interesting friction resulting from the forced end of their estrangement brought on by the main character, Olivia Dunham, during the beginning of the show. Olivia is the serious edge that drives the show forward, the almost-archetypal courageous white knight that's universally been played by a male character everywhere else. She's perfect here; stoic and determined, full of raw emotion that nobody else gets to see outwardly if she can help it, and it's acted and written well enough that she never becomes that stereotypical tough girl who has to act like she's a man fitting into a man's world. It's nice to finally have a strong female lead character who can be tough and still be feminine, something exceptionally rare in films or television. I love it, five stars. Pick up the Blu-Ray if you're torn between formats, but the DVD version is great enough to recommend as an alternative.

Ocean's Eleven [Blu-ray] Ocean's Eleven [Blu-ray]

Reviews

Bought this to watch again on my new blu-ray. Very grainy and yes i reduced the sharpness to make sure. When Tess and Daniel meet for the first time in the movie, there is so much grain that you can see it kinda move around. My rating is 5 stars for the flick, and 1 star for the blu-ray xfer.

I'm not a movie critic so I won't get into too much detail about liking the movie, it is all about taste. However, the quality of the blu ray left a lot to be desired, especially towards the end where there are serious color quality issues. I had the movie initially on DVD and did not have the color issues (extreme redness in the face of Bank and the diamond critic). However, the movie was only a few dollars, which is much cheaper than what the DVD costs at my local WalMart and Target.

I love Ocean's Eleven (pass on oceans 12) and oceans 13 is awesome. Great movie.

This movie is a classic remake of the old Ocean's 11. This movie has great actors in it who really hit their parts in this movie. I owned both the Blu-ray along the DVD and the Blu-ray is the way to go! Don't let the 1 and 2 star reviews fool you, anyone who says this movie was poorly written does not know anything about movies or has not seen the first Oceans 11. This movie grossed over 450 million in the theaters alone world wide and not including DVD/Blu-ray sales.

I loved this movie so I had to buy it on blu-ray. I think it is the best of the three so it is a must. If you've ever seen a blu-ray movie than you know how great a quality they are. No complaints here.

Ocean's Eleven improves on 1960's Rat Pack original with supernova casting, a slickly updated plot, and Steven Soderbergh's graceful touch behind the camera. Soderbergh reportedly relished the opportunity "to make a movie that has no desire except to give pleasure from beginning to end," and he succeeds on those terms, blessed by the casting of George Clooney as Danny Ocean, the title role originated by Frank Sinatra...

Deluxe Leg Wallet / Passport Holder by Enroute Deluxe Leg Wallet / Passport Holder by Enroute

Works great. Material is soft and comfortable. You'll forget that you have it on.

This leg wallet was great. I was surprised how many important papers, airline tickets, passport and credit cards as well as a few pieces of jewelry I could fit into the two pockets. It stayed in place and was overall comfortable to wear ( I traveled for a month in October ) and easy to get to. During a particularly heavy, torrential rainstorm when I probably became the wettest I have ever been the items inside did get quite wet. I had to take a hair dryer to them afterward. So if heavy rain is eminent, I would bring along a couple of sandwich- sized plastic bags in case of the same. It has come apart in a section that needs re-sewing but after over 4 wks of daily wear this seems reasonable to me. I highly recommend it!!

During a recent trip to Rome, I stored my passport, credit cards, and extra money in this product. It was comfortable and I hardly knew I had something around my leg. The best part is that I didn't have something hanging around my waist or neck, which produces a bump under clothing which could be seen. The leg wallet is completely hidden under the pant leg. The only extra security measure I took with the wallet is that I used a safety pin near each of the zippers just in case one of those were to give way. Not sure how this would be in hot weather when perspiring, however. You may want to put your paper items in a small plastic sandwich or zip lock bag before placing in the pouch to keep them dry.

P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor

Reviews

First off, I purchased this from Radio Shack and not Amazon for about $24.99 plus tax. The knowledge this product will save me $158.40 a year based on $0.12 a kWh just on what I learned about my computer. My computer's surge protector used .11 kWh in 44 minutes in stand by mode. That's about 110 kWh in a month or about $13.20 a month. I mean come on! I have had my computer on stand by mode for at least 9 years! That is $1425!!!! Having a tool like this is amazing and incredibly money saving. If you don't buy this, you are wasting your money. Having my HP Laptop charger plugged in but not connected to the laptop, used 0 kWh. Right now I am checking to see how much it takes to charge it from 0% to 100%. Then how much it uses to leave it connected 24/7. I am having a lot of fun with this. BUY IT YOU WILL LOVE IT!

This unit works great, it will let you know how much energy you are using when the unit is off, or working at full load. I worked in the electronic industry for 36 years, this unit is as good as some of the voltage analyzers I worked with that cost a thousand dollars!

Fantastic device. The first appliance I tested was my 30 year old Amana 13 cubic foot upright deep freeze. After three days it had used only three KWH. Convinced me there was no need to spend a lot of money to replace it while trying to reduce operating cost. It's on loan to a friend right now and he's thinking of buying one for himself. When I get mine back I'll be checking everything that's plugged in.

I am just so pleased with this Kill A Watt unit. It has been fun to use and and investigate all my power consumption. Some things are just for infomational purposes because I can't unplug them(i.e. Refridgerator) and others are devices where we can change our habits some and start savinfg some real money every month. Pros: Easy to use, inexpensive, small profile, Cons: Setting disapear when unplugged, zero directions I think that the company that made this unit could be more helpful if they were to offer a spreadsheet on their website that people could download and use for figuring out their power consumption. I made one myself but it took a lot of time. Also not everyone is good at math and formulas it would be helpful if they offered a small cheat sheet for people to use to help them get started on the math of KWH and how we are all bileed for our electricity.

I wanted to put a Microsoft MCE computer on line in the living room, but I was afraid of the power usage, We live in Hawaii and pay some of the steepest prices for electricity. Using the P4400 Kill A Watt put my mind at ease. The LCD screen is very easy to read, I had no issues or problems with operating the device. Its nice knowing just how much electricity a device will use, and estimating how much it would cost to run, helps. I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it to anyone.

Master Lock 5400D Select Access Key Storage Box with Set-Your-Own Combination Lock Master Lock 5400D Select Access Key Storage Box with Set-Your-Own Combination Lock

Reviews

I had owned the lockbox for 2 months, used it 15 - 20 times, and then the black piece that you slide down to open it jammed up. The numbers could still turn but the black piece wouldn't move. Called Master Lock and they said to call a locksmith.

When I bought this it worked great. I used it for bed and breakfast guests and the cleaning staff for two months. A couple of days ago I had to remove it from the gate temporarily. When I tried to set it up again, the key door wouldn't close. I think the spring inside the key area that allows the handle closure to lock got stuck when I removed it and began blocking the key door. Considering it was the very first time I had tried to take the thing off the gate and put it back, that's not very reliable. I'll be trying something else.

We bought this to use outside our house. It's held up wonderfully in cold air/rain storms. Would definitely recommend.

We have been using these for real estate purposes, and they work great. They the perfect size to put a few keys and possibly a small garage remote. Amazon shipped these very quickly; I was pleasantly surprised at how fast I received them.

Great product. Very sturdy. Lock was bigger than what I thought I was ordering but am very pleased with it.

Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer

Reviews

I bought this pedometer about 18 months ago. I've been using it regularly and have had no problems. Battery life is about 6 months or so and the batteries are easy to get. The nicest feature (to me) is that it doesn't make noise -- the mechanical pedometers click with each step, this is completely silent. It is pretty accurate -- if you wear your pants lower than the natural waist, it might miss a few steps -- also if you walk very smoothly, it will miss steps. Yes, it does work when I stick in in a pocket in my purse.

I purchased this pedometer about a month ago. Prior to this purchase I have owned at least 4 other brand name pedometers that never performed as promised. When I received the Ormon, I calibrated it ( very easy to do) using the same information as my other pedometers and went out to measure my current walking route. I was amazed at how accurate and consistant the readings were. It was within 30 paces of the actual distance. My other pedometers measured up to several hundred paces +/- of the correct distance and never the same distance twice. I have recommended this to other friends and wear it from the time I get going in the morning to the time I go to bed. It's a great way to monitor your 10,000 steps a day and I am always trying to beat the previous days reading. The Omron HJ-112 is definately a keeper!

This pedometer is easy to use, very accurate, and it can sit in your waist pocket. It has many functions and its easy to use. I highly recommend it. The price is right too.

It amazes me how a company could make such a wonderfully accurate and feature rich device and then give it a almost nonexistent belt clip. The clip is so flimsy it comes off at the slightest touch. This is on a device that is used to measure exercise levels and distances. When carried inside of a pocket the device was not nearly as accurate and needs to be carried in there with a certain orientation. If not for the belt clip I would have given this a 5 star rating.

I love everything about this pedometer. It was easy to program and get started. I like that it tracks your steps, aerobic steps, calories burned, miles walked, etc. It's ability to reset itself every night at midnight is also very handy. A great product for a very reasonable price here on Amazon. It is keeping me on track with my daily workouts and just to wear all day to track steps, etc. Love it!!!!
